Trusts in London were procuring these products either from NHS Supply Chain or local contracts, or with no contract arrangements in place - a London-wide framework agreement would enable improved leverage of spend, drive savings in trusts, improve pricing options and compliance, and enable choice including migration to lower-cost clinically acceptable alternatives.
Benefits of the contract
The framework has enabled competitive pricing for trusts based on volume, and savings have also accrued as trusts have been afforded the correct pricing based on their annual volume. It also removes the need for trusts to rely on pricing from NHS Supply Chain.
The framework agreement enables full compliance with the requirements of the Public Contracts Regulations, as it incorporates the need for trusts to market test locally.
