Aisha Achha

Pharmacy Project Manager, Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement

Aisha has worked in community and hospital pharmacies as well as a PCT in support technician roles. She worked for NHS City and Hackney for two years before joining LPP as specialist Pharmacy Support.

Alda James

Business Manager

Alda has extensive experience previously in the charity and public sector. As well as a background in licensed event management, she was formerly a court officer in both the County and Royal Courts of Justice. She has worked for LPP since 2011, and oversees LPP operational services.

Ash Fraser

Category Specialist, Estates, Facilities & Professional Services

Ash has private and public sector procurement experience. She was the procurement manager for an IT reseller before joining King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as the Procurement Services Manager in 2009. She later held the role at both KCH and GSTT as part of the Shared Procurement Service. More recently she was responsible for the procurement of clinical and non-clinical equipment for large capital projects at KCH and has experience in Agency and Temporary Staffing. Ash is MCIPS qualified and a Prince II Practitioner.

Azhar is a practising GP who has worked as a respiratory lead, diagnostics lead, KHP Children and Young Peoples’ Health Partnership LTC lead and “Singing for better breathing” GP lead for Lambeth. He has also filled the role of lung and primary care co-lead for Guy’s and St.Thomas’.

Bal is MCIPS qualified with over 20 years experience in business development, strategic procurement, project management and transformation across the private and public sectors. Bal delivered and increased usage of the LPP Managed Document Services and Clinical Digital Information Systems frameworks nationally to achieve efficiencies and savings ranging from 40% - 80%. At LPP, Bal has enabled organisations to be compliant with the Government’s Personalised Health and Care 2020 Digital Strategy.

Chris has experience of public and private sector procurement in healthcare and has worked in Acute NHS trusts for over eight years, gaining experience in a wide range of clinical and non clinical categories. Prior to joining LPP she was Assistant Head of Procurement at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.

Danielle Lebby

Procurement Apprentice, Technology and Consultancy

Danielle is a procurement apprentice that has recently joined the Technology & Consultancy and Estates & Facilities team at LPP. She is currently studying a level 2 in business admin under the apprenticeship scheme. She has previously achieved a level 1 in business admin, a pass in first aid- emergency at work, AS level in Psychology and a BTEC level 3 in forensic science. She has previous experience in a variety of sectors such as retail, veterinary, cleaning and hospitality.

Darush Attar-Zadeh

Pharmacist, Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement

A pharmacist, behaviour change specialist and national public health trainer, Darush has specialised in the field of smoking cessation for twenty years and is part of the London clinical senate delivery team. He works as a CCG respiratory lead in Barnet and is part of the LPP team project managing on cardiovascular disease.

Elaine Morris

Talent Development Manager, Corporate Services

Elaine has more than 20 years’ experience in implementing and managing lifelong learning in vocational settings including Work Based Learning, Apprenticeship Training Schemes, Colleges, Commerce, Civil Service and the NHS. Experienced in all aspects of Apprenticeship Levy Management, Elaine is a BA (Hons) graduate in Educational Management and a member of the CIPD, qualified in Neuro Linguistic Programming Masters Level and is a 360 Feedback Facilitator. Her motivation is ‘coaching’ people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds to realise their maximum potential, whilst supporting their learning goals.

Graeme Webster

Systems Development and Integration Manager

Graeme has over 20 years of software development experience. Whilst at Merton Council he developed the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) platform which is now used nationally by both the private and public sectors to pre-qualify suppliers. He is an Umbraco Certified Level 2 Developer and has an MSc in Information Technology.

Jackie Eastwood

Associate Director, Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement

Jackie is an experienced hospital pharmacist with a background in technical and clinical pharmacy services to patients. She has specialised in intestinal failure and nutrition for the last 17 years. She was the Chairman of the British Pharmaceutical Nutrition Group for six year and is currently chair of the stakeholders group for the national framework for home parenteral nutrition and a member of the National Homecare Medicines Committee.

Jas Khambh

Jas is an experienced pharmacist who has worked in the NHS for 20 years, as both a pharmacist and a senior manager and has a strong track record of success. Jas has led on various initiatives and programs of work across London to help deliver the objectives of the strategic QIPP programme and other medicines optimisation initiatives. More recently, Jas has been working at NHS England as the National Pharmacy Adviser for NHS RightCare, focusing on the national initiatives for Medicines Optimisation within NHS RightCare.

Joel is a biomedical engineer who has recently joined LPP as a procurement support officer. He also has an MSc in Computing and Medical Instrumentation Engineering and a graduation in hospital management. Prior to joining LPP Joel worked for two years as an administrator for the Portuguese Association of Hospital Managers.

Laura Quirke

Director of Marketing and Engagement

Laura brings private and public sector marketing and communications experience to LPP, having directed her own agency prior to joining the NHS in 2010. She has managed marketing and communications for household names including Samsung Cameras and Nestlé. While living in Vancouver Laura established the marketing and communications function for the Land Title & Survey Authority of British Columbia. She’s also a Prince 2 Practitioner.

Laura has worked in procurement in acute trusts for more than eight years gaining experience in a broad range of category areas. Before joining LPP in 2012 she was the Procurement Projects Manager at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. She has full MCIPS and an MSc in Procurement which included a dissertation on the application of lean principles in the NHS.

Lee has more than 15 years' purchasing experience gained across a variety of industries. He has held senior sourcing positions at blue chip companies including JCB, Unipart, GE and Health Trust Europe. Academically, Lee has an MBA in Chinese Negotiation Strategy, a Post Graduate Diploma in E-Commerce and a BA (Hons) degree in American Management Science.

Levente's background is in analytics and statistics; he gained his experience in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining LPP he was working in the financial services industry specialising in analytics and reporting services. He has a degree in Economics and Finance from the LSE.

Mario Varela

Managing Director

Mario joined Bart’s and The London NHS Trust in 2004 after a two year secondment from NHS PASA where he was an Associate Director of Purchasing with responsibility for £1.5bn of NHS expenditure. He worked closely with policy leads and Ministers on high profile government projects. Mario transformed the focus from “transactional” to “added value” at Bart’s through investment in professional expertise and modernisation of processes through technology. This delivered in excess of £35m in savings. He has been leading LPP since 2009 and appointed as its first Managing Director in 2011. He is a graduate in Business Studies with an MBA, is a full member of CIPS and a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.

Michael Badham-Jones

Category Support Specialist

Michael has worked within public sector procurement for two years. Prior to joining LPP, Michael worked for a Shared Procurement Service delivering on a wide range of contracts for Horsham District Council, Mid Sussex District Council and Crawley Borough Council. The role included delivering open OJEU processes, open tenders, frameworks, RFQ, spend analysis and contract management. Michael’s role at LPP is his first within the health sector and his first within a technology category. Michael is excited to grow and develop within the health sector and the technology and consultancy category. Michael graduated from the University of Sussex in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Politics and 2014 with a master’s degree in Corruption and Governance.

Nicola Atack

eEnablement Lead

Nicola's career in the NHS began in 2007 when she joined the King’s College Hospital procurement department. She was the procurement systems lead for the trust’s Omnicell cabinet implementation and in 2011 she became the Head of Systems for the Guy’s & St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital Procurement Shared Service, responsible for all procurement technology and requisition processing across both trusts. She has an MA and is a Prince 2 Practitioner.

Pauline is a hospital pharmacist leading on Cancer and Chemotherapy for a District General Hospital and a member of the London Cancer New Drugs Group. She was the North West London Cancer Network Pharmacist for five years and is now an active member of several groups for London Cancer Alliance.

Poe has a degree in Development Studies and an MA in International Business Management. Prior to joining the LPP as an Analyst, Poe worked for South West London and St Georges’ Mental Health NHS Trust. She supports the maintenance and administration of all internal LPP systems and applications.

Rakesh Dodhia

Strategic Analyst (Pharmacy), Business Intelligence Team

Rakesh has joined LPP from a pharmaceutical forecasting agency, where he was a consultant working with the pharmaceutical industry for three years. He has a Level 3 Diploma in the promotion of prescription medicines from the ABPI and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from Oxford University. At LPP he works with the Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Procurement workstream, producing prescribing dashboards and fulfilling ad-hoc data requests.

Raman Tiwana

Category Support Specialist, Technology & Consultancy

Raman has both public sector and private sector procurement experience. Prior to joining LPP, Raman worked for Sun Chemical, one of the world’s largest ink manufacturer based in their European Purchasing Team. Her role included data analysis, category strategies, preparation for supplier negotiations as well as leading on some indirect spend projects. Raman’s health sector experience includes supporting on a number of categories including agency services, orthopaedics and technology. Raman graduated from Keele University in July 2014 with a law degree and is in the final year of her CIPS qualification.

Rebecca is an experienced dietitian and has worked in community and acute healthcare, adults and paediatrics. She is leading on the nutrition workstream and coordinating dietetic work in this area. Rebecca also manages the paediatric dietitians at the Royal Free.

Shah Miah joined NHS London Procurement Partnership (LPP) in late 2016 as an apprentice and went on to generate an income of £2m for the organisation in the last financial year. Shah’s hard work and dedication saw him win Apprentice of the Year at the Unsung Hero Awards in 2018. Shah also has extensive experience in the private sector, working in sales management for the gaming industry.

Stephanie joined LPP from Brighton & Sussex University NHS Trust where she was a Senior Buyer, having begun her career there as a Junior Buyer specialising in Estates and Facilities, and Medical and Surgical. She also spent a year getting to know the Bank system, placing nurses, medical locums and admin staff into suitable and available job roles.

Before joining LPP Steve was at EGS as Head of Business Process Outsourcing and prior to that he was at Improvement and Efficiency South East where he helped 74 local authorities collaborate and meet their efficiency savings.

Tracy has worked in NHS hospital pharmacy for more than 25 years; the last 13 years in pharmacy procurement and later in homecare. She spent a short time in industry which included formulation and large scale batch manufacturing. Tracy is a member of the Pharmaceutical Market Support Group (PMSG), sub group for generics and MCIPS registered.

Wajid Qureshi

Stoma Care Project Lead

Wajid is an experienced pharmacist who has worked in variety of roles in secondary and primary care as well as in pharmacy education. He is on secondment from Newham CCG where he is a Lead Prescribing Adviser within Quality Directorate and a NICE Associate for Medicines and Prescribing. He has postgraduate diploma in Pharmacy Practice and completed leadership courses. His role is to lead on medicines optimisation for primary care within LPP working with stakeholders. He is also leading on the LPP mental health work stream.

Zarah Perry-Woodford

Consultant Nurse, Stoma Care

Zarah has over 20 years’ experience as a registered general nurse and worked in a variety of settings within the military, private sector and NHS. Currently she is on a secondment from London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust where she works as a Consultant Nurse in Stoma Care. This role includes direct patient care as well as leading on stoma care education nationally and internationally, research and development.
